Grocery day!

So, over the past year or so I've flirted with Vegetarianism and Veganism.  For a brief period when I first arrived in NYC, I'd gone strictly Vegetarian.  Our sublet was the home of a lovely woman who followed a spiritually Vegetarian path.  Wanting to honor her space, I made the choice to eliminate meat so as not to screw up the energy of her home.  It was relatively easy to do, and I do love my veggies and lentils.  However, after the sublet ended I went back to my meat eating ways... which there is nothing wrong with persay.

Now, I'm committed to losing the last of my extra weight and although thin and carnivore are not mutually exclusive I've found it difficult to maintain a low calorie diet while still indulging in meats.  (I have an allergy to seafood, so I can't even pick a lean protein instead).  So!  That being said, I've made the commitment to transition to true Vegetarianism.  Today was the first day, so to speak, and my husband went out and filled our fridge with a bunch of options that I can choose from; a lot of the frozen meat substitute options that will make the transition less jarring.  Although, it is weird to me to have so much in my freezer, after eating mostly fresh for many years.  But, if I don't make this change smart, it won't take and I'll revert back to old habits which haven't done me any favors over the years.

I am giving myself an initial time limit.  I'm going to maintain this dietary change until September 1st.  If I am miserable still after a good three months of Vegetarianism, then I will make some modifications.  If not, I may pursue a Vegan transition... although, I doubt I could successfully go Vegan with some of the health issues I have with low blood sugar.  We'll see.  It's all a journey and a positive one too.

WELCOME!

Welcome to my blog, dearies!  This place is dedicated to my journey from the obscurity of aspiring actress to the eventual success of a Broadway actress.  Lofty goals, I know.

For those of you subscribing, you will find everything involved in my pursuit of my Broadway dreams from my day to day struggles with rehearsals and auditions, to reviews of the great (and not so great) performances I've been lucky enough to see; you'll see me write about fitness and diet, interviews with other actors (some aspiring some already successful in their craft).

This is a zen space so no hate is allowed.  Us theatre kids are all one big family and it's important we remember that no matter our goals and the element of competition that's inevitable in this race towards Broadway and our stars of success that we're all ultimately in the same boat.  :)

Love you guys!  Stay tuned!
